Barbara Bond BSc(Hons) RN MrSS

Barbara is trained in both Western and Eastern approaches to health and well being.

She has worked for 25 years in the NHS and social care with both physical and mental ill health, and currently works in palliative care. Her interest in complementary therapies began in 1990’s when she was working with people recovering from burn injuries and she saw how the use of aromatherapy oils in scar management reduced the use of medication for severe and uncontrollable itching. In clinical practice she has also seen the benefits of reflexology with children with complex needs and acupuncture for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

She has completed a study on the benefits of Shiatsu for people living with Asperger’s, particularly in managing anxiety and has a current interest in the use of complementary therapies to support people with long term conditions.

Barbara qualified in Shiatsu in 2015 (MRSS). She works as a teaching assistant at Shiatsu College Brighton. She has a practice at Brighton Shiatsu Centre and is part of the complementary therapy team at Martlets Hospice.
